“ We've been wanting to visit Marulilu for a long while but the little cafe/diner was always packed and sometimes with a lineup outside - which piqued our interest even more. Finally dropped in mid-week and off peak hours. Delightful! We expected typical breakfast food and were surprised by the mix of Japanese and North American diner. And it turned out to be both delicious and novel. We had the omu hayashi rice and the mini breakfast with waffle - each hit the spot! The place is so tiny that I can't imagine what it is like during busy hours - you weave your way to the counter to order and the meals are served to your table pretty quickly. We'll definitely be returning to try other dishes from the menu. Highly recommended for very casual and satisfying dining. ”
“ This was one of the earliest breakfast places I could find serving traditional Japanese style breakfast! I didn't realize you pay first, then sit and wait. The food came quickly and was great! All utensils possible and lots of napkins given to you. Maybe because I had to do an Asian literary event later and my background is Toronto/Hong Kong, I could not chill like the other diners. There are not a lot of tables, so go early! Also there is only one bathroom. I had the Japanese breakfast with tofu and Yuzu cha which I found too sweet. There is an extensive tea list, lots of options! ”

Each drink we tasted so far has been very tasty (here you can see the matcha rose latte, even though my favorite would be the yuzu cha!) “ This little restaurant is completely adorable. With the selection of food in the area it is easy to mess it and that would be a tragedy. I can't brag enough about how wonderful the service and food was. I brought my Mom who has been having some mobility issues so we have been using a wheel chair. The lady was so wonderful helping us in and out and accommodating us. Then the food arrived and it was so good. I have wanted to try Omurice for a very long time, and it was amazing Thank you! ”

I got the omurice with ketchup rice and lobster sauce. First time having this dish and omurice in general. This was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I'll 100% be back next time. ”
